Continuing the Conversation: Mental Health Awareness & AAPI Heritage Month

As May begins, we find ourselves at the intersection of two significant observances: Mental Health Awareness Month and Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month. These observances hold profound importance for our communities and workplaces, highlighting the need for ongoing dialogue and action.

Mental health is a universal concern that transcends cultural and ethnic boundaries. It affects individuals from all walks of life, yet certain communities face unique challenges in accessing support and resources. Similarly, AAPI Heritage Month celebrates the rich diversity and contributions of the Asian American and Pacific Islander community, but it also sheds light on the disparities and obstacles the community encounters, including those related to mental health.

At Chapter tOO, we recognize the importance of these conversations and the need for continued awareness and advocacy. Instead of publishing new content this year, we have decided to revisit and highlight the #Gemisode ?(two-part essay) published last year that explore the intersection of Mental Health Awareness Month and AAPI Heritage Month.

We invite you to join us in reflecting on the Gemisode, which remains as relevant and crucial as ever:
